«I have always admired Italian design, American functionality, German quality, and French pricing. With the 320, the aim is to incorporate these attributes and combine them with the Scandinavian way of boating», says Sakari Mattila, founder and chief designer of Saxdor Yachts.
An all-weather cabin cruiser
Climate in Scandinavia is not always mild, so the type of boat that combines a spacious wheelhouse with a salon is especially popular there. It’s only logical, then, that the Saxdor 320 GTC, a wheelhouse criuser with masculine, angular lines, appeared in the Saxdor 320 model lineup. This boat is equally good for a breezy cruise on a sunny day and for a weekend-long voyage in changing weather and not-so-smooth seas. You will feel comfortable on board, no matter the conditions outside.
Performance twin-stepped hull
Like all boats in the 320 model line, the Saxdor 320 GTC owes its great performance to a unique hull shape with twin transverse steps and a deadrise smoothly changing from the knife-sharp all the way to the transom. As a result, with twin Mercury outboards rated at 225 or 300 hp each, or even with a single 300-hp Mercury V8, the 300 GTC can have a top speed of 40 to 50+ knots, retaining its trademark handling and maneuverability at any pace. The GTC designation — Gran Tourismo Cabin — fits this model like nothing else: just fuel her up and go on a long, fast voyage.
Opening balconies come standard
Like the 320 GTO and the 320 GTR, the Gran Turismo Cabin has a soft sunpad in the bow and opening aft terraces that transform the cockpit into a large platform for lounging, dining, or diving. What makes the Saxdor 320 GTC cruiser so different is its large wheelhouse spanning the whole width of the hull. A layout like this, without sidewalks, makes it difficult to access the foredeck, yet Saxdor solved the problem with grace. The fore port side of the wheelhouse has a door that ensures easy access to the bow and a walkway around the sunpad for easy mooring and disembarking.
Two extra beds in the wheelhouse
To make sure there’s always fresh air in the salon, the wheelhouse has sliding side windows and a power-operated canvas sunroof. Upon entering, to the port you see a galley equipped with an electric stove, sink, and a fridge, with a front-facing seat further forward. To the starboard, there is a sofa and a power-operated table. Turning the helm seats around makes a spacious dinette, and with just a push of the button, the table transforms the dinette into additional berths. Amazing, but all these power-operated features, including the Simrad navigation in the helm station, comes as standard equipment on the Saxdor 320 GTC.
Premium-finish front cabin
The front cabin with a vast bed, storage cabinets, and a stylish head with a clever folding door, is similar to models 320 GTO и 320 GTR. Finished in soft light-colored materials with pale oak veneers, it is cozily lit by lamps at night and cheerfully flooded with natural light at day through roof hatches.
